: You can avoid the [bandwidth consuming] effects of things like blinky : cursors simply by minimising the viewer. That should prevent the : viewer from requesting further display updates until it is restored.
You might also play with -deferupdate settings when starting Xvnc. Not sure how much it'd help, or if the latency side effects would be worth it, but definitely seems worth looking into.
