The main problem (I guess) is that you're going to have a
job getting an ssh library that will build/run on windows without
loading something like cygwin. It's not a good idea to implement
ssh *in* VNC, since you're going to have to maintain it
(ssh implementations invariably have some bugs), which would be
quite a job. Some of the windows flavours of ssh have builtin
encryption, but implementing encryption properly isn't easy.
I wouldn't like to bet any money on a non-crypto specialist
getting it even halfway right.

Can somebody who knows more than I do comment on the feasibility
of adding openssh-based encryption to RealVNC and retaining the
present portability?
