OK looking at the archives this is a subject with lots of strong opinions but I would like to know whether it is possible to not have VNC change colours when Looking at a pc running it?
Not without hacking at the code yourself.
My son has internet access which is fine but I think it would be
irresponsible of me if I didn't occasionally check what he was up to on the
internet.
Absolutely.
I don't really want him to see when I just check on him to make sure all is well. I could insist he use his PC with the door open but I would like him to feel he is trusted.
Even though he's NOT trusted? Surely it's better to explain the pitfalls to him, and let him know you'll be checking up on him, to make sure he's safe.
