This is almost certainly it. The new XP firewall has highly paranoid default behaviors; you'll want to explicitly allow the ports used by VNC.

Hi,
I was happily VNC'ing along when until I installed XP SP2 on the server machine. Now I cannot connect to it at all! I tried reinstalling VNC, but that did not work. Is it just me or has anyone else had this issue? The computer in question is running XP Home, if that matters.
