Posted by Orin Kerr: Deputy Attorney General Stepping Down: Deputy AG James Comey has announced that [1]he is resigning. The Deputy Attorney General is the #2 person at DOJ and has day-to-day control over the Department. My sense of things is that Comey was highly respected among the career lawyers at DOJ; his departure will be a loss for the Department.
