1. How is port 1028 being blocked at the router? It is important the filter only trigger on the destination port and not the source which can be almost anything. 2. It is important to seperate out the MSN/Hotmail maillist problem from this issue. It is directly caused by their decision to terminate sessions after a certain number of failures. Vircom by default will send all of the messages at once and if the list is not groomed or if 10 people quit MSN since the last mailing you are hosed. Modusmail offers the ability to limit the number of recipients per batch in the mail lists. Since we changed our lists to a batch size of 20 or less we have not had this problem.
