Yes, this is the challenge, I cannot do that as other servers/individuals will then be able to send mail through the proxy to the VOPMail server and then it will be relayed out. As it is, they must authenticate unless sending to a local user, everyone must authenticate on my network now.   I am testing a programable SMTP proxy that allows you to put rules on incoming mail and actions associated with those rules   IF on RBL  THEN  delete or save   IF attachment has vbs or pif or scr or exe then send a message to the final recipient about it and delete the original   IF the email is coming from CHINA then delete it   IF header contains "X-Spam-Flag: YES" (spam assassin's tag) then save it in a subfolder of the users inbox (so they can see it with IMAP)   This kind of stuff.  Kinda cool.   David Payer ----- Original Message ----- From: Suneel Jhangiani To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, October 13, 2003 11:34 AM Subject: [VOPmail Beta] what is the "protocol filter" You should actually whitelist your SMTP Proxy as it might be triggering other �Slowdown� mechanisms.   It all depends on how you have configured your SMTPproxy, and what SMTP software it is running.   ----- I before E except after C. If there is another reason my proxy is being blocked, I need to find out. Other mail is going through so I don't see a complete block.   David Payer
