"Persuasion" is NOT my goal, and that could be the rhetorical problem
you are experiencing. "Discovery" is one goal, but "Truth" is the
overriding goal, and persuasion implies something going beyond truth.
Speculation is only helpful to the extent that it can open-up someone's
eyes, including the speculator's! - to an underlying truth, or at least
a pathway to such, which is NOT self-evident from what they have learned
in an educational process which is hampered by tradition and
short-sighted understanding of all options.
Sorry to annoy you, but that process of sequential speculation: and the
setting-up of "straw men" followed by others knocking them down with
logic or counter-speculation, used to be what this forum was good for.

At the risk of offending more readers here with
excessive speculation, let me mention that the
Stiffler circuit mentioned in recent threads, could be
very similar to your and Paul's concept- but in a
number of inadvertent ways. That is, similar to what
you are attempting except that the output is found in
visible light radiation, rather than electricity.
He is mixing LEDs, which are of course a type of
diode, with signal diodes together with a reactive
transformer core- along with input from a small
external signal (~50 or more milliwatts) to get more
light out, in photons, than the input power would
suggest is possible.
Among many possible explanations for this is that
ambient infrared and terahertz radiation (ambient
heat) is being converted (upshifted) into the visible
range of photons by the negative resistance range of
the LEDs.
Did this possibility occur to you already, or am I too
far removed from reality to realize how 'excessive'
such a suggestion can seem?
