The issue with reproducibility is related to the fact that there are missing factors in the equation, and those factors are related to cosmic energies and events, in my opinion. I dare to make a prediction: Until cosmic effects are taken into account, transmutation of substance will not be understood. Incidentally, that's why the ancient alchemists were so worried about the position of the planets and the moment of the day when doing their experiments.
