Next, if you replace the small disk with a kilogram disk, and heat to the same temp, the assembly will vibrate much more intensely and for longer, but of course, you added more heat initially so this is where the analogy ends. This is the best example I can come up with so far. The leap of faith is that in this metaphor, the dense pycno is the heavier disk but it is really the same net weight, only with a gravitational pull to the nearest nuclei which make it act as if it were much heavier, since it is much denser and closer (the pycno is 2D) - ERGO the same heat input makes it vibrate more intensely than if it were less dense. When anything vibrates intensely in the near IR frequencies - that is heat. If it vibrates is in excess of the input, in the analogy above, then the "spring" together with gravity are responsible for some of the gain. Metaphorically, the spring is the 'outer orbitals' of adjacent atoms and the increased pull from gravity enhances the vibrational modes. The issue with reproducibility is related to the fact that there are missing factors in the equation, and those factors are related to cosmic energies and events, in my opinion. I dare to make a prediction: Until cosmic effects are taken into account, transmutation of substance will not be understood. Incidentally, that's why the ancient alchemists were so worried about the position of the planets and the moment of the day when doing their experiments.
