A few more thoughts:
1 - It wasn't clear that a TRAIC is a current biased component and that with a DC current flowing after it was turned on it would not shut off when the AC current went to zero.
2 - There could be a three phase AC transformer in the control box before the TRIAC(S) which would resolve the issue of symmetry for the AC current, except how the DC current could be used when the transformer will block it is a mystery...I have not thought of a way to remove the AC from the DC, only the DC from the AC.
