Additionally while porn can be destructive for both the producers and the end users, the percentage of men who enjoy viewing porn .vs the number of lives it ruins (while providing relief for a basic and intense need) is small by comparison with gambling. If the same percentage of men (most all) gambled and as frequently and as long as porn was enjoyed the number of ruined lives would be many times greater I am sure. Gambling has no point whatsoever, especially where there is a house edge it is merely a destructive addictive activity that will cost the player in the long run, even without a house edge it is a zero sum game, producing nothing of value besides arguably an experience. But the experience of say going to Las Vegas is enhanced by staying out of the casinos. Although the lottery it could be argued does some good if no one spends too much or has their life planned around winning 1st division. This is simply because it redistributes an insignificant amount of money from a lot of people to one person who now has a really useful amount of money (millions). The risk is high but quite insignificant, the reward is huge however improbable. Maybe gambling should be compared to narcotics, only not as illegal. John
