This might be a new concept to you, and therefore you didn't understand my comment, but even the default route is a route. It just happens to be ... the default route.
Like I said, be more helpful to the OP (and others) and less argumentative with me. Very handy if you want to show people (like your boss ...) you're a team player, and all that. Just a bit of free career advice, in with the networking advice.
