IMHO, I think you and others missed the boat. ;-) Of course it
would be nice to have all software in one place. Now, let us take
a look at what is really happening.

Freely Distributable s/w, by default, is located on Aminet.
Various programs done by or used by V are on Vapor. MUI, MagicWB,
etc., are on SASG. Miami, Miami Deluxe, etc., are located on
Nordicglobal. What is right and what is wrong with this picture?

Right, you can get a lot of great s/w just by going to one site,
on the Internet, or, if connected, FIDONet, etc. Wrong, is that
each of these sites are on the Internet, and, if you wished to go
in-person to purchase any of it, you would have to be very rich to
afford all that globe trotting, etc. What really makes for a good
way to acquire commercial ware, is to have it in a "brick and mor-
tar" store, where everything (s//w and h/w) are under one roof, and
located in your vicinity.

In fact, the only group that makes its items easily available,
other than through the Internet, is Aminet -- they give you a way
to order their CD ROM's. Why, perhaps because of their many mirror
sites, which none of the other groups have.

Again, there is nothing wrong with wanting everything in one
place; but, in which one place?
