Wow!! I sure had this one wrong then. I emailed F&G about the possiblility
of boating, raft or other, the Green River Gorge. If you are ever down
river of "Horseshoe Bend" below the hatchery at Palmer, you've taken a look
at that? I've fished there often in the early days. Caught my first
steelhead there and dragged it all the way to the Green River Tavern, up
above the hatchery, had my picture taken and put on the wall and partyed
with the locals the rest of the day. Shortly after, my picture burned down
along with the tavern. My wife and I floated it one time, in innertubes,
and put in right below Flaming Gyser Park. The cascading water that comes
in there doesn't look manageable either. I assumed, I guess, that the water
above there up to Palmer, was not floatable. That was a true story about
the Frenchman dumping his Lavro in at Palmer and disintegrating it. The
story went that he was going to be the first to ever make it. My wife and I
ended up taking out, climbing up a high bank near Black Diamond way after
dark. Can't remember how we got back to our vehicles. Jere
