The eMac in question is linked through a 5 port switch to another
eMac connected to the net by an ethernet DSL-300 modem. The main
eMac doesn't have a connection prompt, but the linked one does get
the prompt. It is not a great problem, but one I could do without.
Why isn't the DSL-300 modem connected straight to the 5-port switch,
and then the 'another' e-mac also connected to the switch? In fact
I'm not sure how you can have the eMac connected to the DSL-300 modem
and the switch as AFAIK the eMac has only got one ethernet port.
