Like Houston I have a problem :-( I have a Netgear wireless router DG834G and an Airport Express which cover my house for the laptops :-) They have worked well esp. since I got the netgear router. Now all of a sudden neither appear to be working, maybe because I HAVE 10.4.4 In the place of the usual airport bars I have a tree with greyed out bars behind. Can someone make any sensible suggestions. Both laptops have the same thing and both work on ethernet. JiWire shows nothing in the way of signal. BTW cant wait to see my mates who mocked me when I bought appleshares :-)

Hi Mac,

Have you tried restarting your Router & Airport Express?

Check is the AirPort port selected. Open System Preferences, then click Network. Choose Active Network Ports from the Show pop-up menu, then make sure the AirPort checkbox is selected.

Also Open Internet Connect and make sure AirPort is turned on.

Restart your base station by unplugging and plugging in, then try the connection again.

If you are still unable to connect go to :
Applications > Utilities > Airport Admin Utility
Highlight your Network
Click 'Configure'
Click 'Restart'
