I have just upgraded to an NEC NDH 80 that has an 80GB hard drive and
writes both + and -DVD and DVD RW . Has worked a charm on storing a
couple of world cup matches and I'm currently recoding from video
some old Eagles games that were on VHS.
about $460 from Harvey Norman down from $680

Due to the karking of a VCR I am looking to buy a DVD HDD
recorder. One requirement is to record off air for subsequent
importation into iMovie. Currently I have been doing this by
recording to VHS, playing back into my camera and then transferring
into the computer. I envisage transferring via DVD in future.
Format of DVDs is my query. Am I correct in the supposition that
DVD+R or DVD+RW is not compatible with my Superdrive?
Further, if anyone has words of wisdom on this area it would be
most appreciated. I should mention that I already have a combo DVD
player/VHS recorder so I do not need VHS tape facility, which I
will phase out of my operation now.
