Hi Norm & Dudley,

Many thanks for your replies. It does look that there is something wrong
with my settings. I am currently talking to Westnet, my ISP, and they are
investigating and will call me back hopefully with a solution.

In the meantime I received a reply from Apple support who suggested that the
ISP¹s cache may be the problem. They have suggested something but
unfortunately that has not worked.

Strange that I can surf, retrieve my mail from my ISP¹s account, Yahoo and
Mail.com. No problem with accessing Apple¹s main Website either!!! And, to
my knowledge I have not changed anything on the computer except for the
latest security update.

Anyway, I¹ll post the solution when I get it. It might come in handy for
someone else.

Regards,

Philippe

PS Norm, it is horribly hot in Perth right now at 10:53!!!

PPS I just heard from Westnet who are having no problem with accessing the
.mac site. As far as they know, other customers of theirs having a .mac
account are encoutering no problem at all. So its something here on my
machine or possibly modem which may be the cause. Will keep looking.
