Hi Ronni

I deleted older messages from this email. Answers to your questions inserted
into your text.

Thanks for your specific questions - calming and rational - I was beginning to
freak out!

I looked at the Belkin Security Log which has some interesting entries
(meaningless to me) - SYN (and UDP) Flood to Host . . .

Cheers
Alan

Occasionally after using AirDrop I get a Mac message "Another device on the
network is using your computers IP address 192.168.2.12". I think this is the
Mac's wireless address and haven't found any duplication on my network. Mac
has 192.168.2.4 as Ethernet address.

Just before the new iMac arrived I set up a new Time Capsule in preparation.
Daniel checked - and changed - my setup in January 2013. I have not
intentionally altered anything since.

Daniel set Time Capsule to work in bridge mode.

Time Capsule is the wireless network, Belkin has wireless disabled

model F5D7633au4A (ADSL2+ Modem with G Router)

> How do you have both setup?
Is this a specific question? Not sure what is required!
BELKIN has DHCP server function ON, IP pool addresses from 2 to100, lease time
= forever. IP addresses 2-12 show hosts. No virtual servers, MAC address
filtering disabled, DMZ disabled, ICMP Ping blocked.
TIME CAPSULE via AirPort Utility has Network = router mode Off (Bridge Mode);
Internet = Connect Using DHCP and all addresses are consistent with other data
given here.

> What DNS servers do you have in the Belkin?
Automatic from ISP box is ticked.
DNS address is 203.0.178.191
Secondary DNS address is 203.215.29.191

192.168.2.1 Belkin
>

Firewall is enabled. Client IP filter function is enabled, but there are no
clients listed (message "No valid filtering rule").

Firewall is OFF in Mac

No and No
