Well, I have now downloaded Combo Update 10.10.2, backed up everything, repaired permissions, verified Disk. Repair Disk returned ‘OK’. So I then installed the Combo Update. It only took a few minutes, and, sadly, I still get blank pages when I use Quicklook on .html files.
Bare Bones asked me to run mdls on Terminal and send them the result, which I did. Haven’t heard back from them yet. I suppose I will submit a bug report to Apple. If only some people experience this problem, is it possible it is because their computers are a particular model?
