SERVICES IN HONG KONG
Leading Hong Kong Wireless Carrier Announces Commercial Launch of
Mobile Internet Using Phone.com UP.Link Server 4.0
HONG KONG (April 10, 2000) ¾ Phone.com, Inc. (Nasdaq:PHCM), a leading
provider of mobile Internet software and services, and SUNDAY (Nasdaq:
SDAY, HKSE Stock Code: 0866), a leading developer and provider of
telecommunications and wireless Internet-related services in Hong
Kong, announced the launch of full-scale mobile Internet services,
branded as "SO WAP," using the Phone.com(TM) Wireless Application
Protocol (WAP) UP.Link(TM) Server 4.0. Powered by Phone.com's WAP
technology, SUNDAY has transformed WAP-enabled mobile phones into
wireless Internet appliances by providing access to Internet content
and services. SUNDAY's offering portfolio includes Info-On-Demand
services such as financial news, weather, and personal management
services including personal organizer, and scheduler. SUNDAY has
launched commercial service just a few months after the original
agreement was signed between Phone.com and SUNDAY in October 1999,
marking impressive time-to-market.
This commercial rollout positions SUNDAY as the first carrier to
deliver full-scale mobile Internet services in Hong Kong. SUNDAY has
secured partnerships with over 40 content and service providers
offering a wide range of innovative services to its growing base of
customers. Partners include Virgin Atlantic, Twentieth Century Fox and
Compaq. Through SUNDAY's new mobile Internet offering, "SO WAP"
partners can now extend their online business to the wireless world.
