Tony, watir-common has a dependency on user-choices gem if you are online you can just gem install user-choices. If you are behind firewall download the gem locally and then install it. also user-choices depends on xml-simple, s4t-utils, (and you will need hoe and builder). I am behind firewall and my gem command fails even with http proxy settings so I need to download all the gems and maintain local repo for my test machines.
Here are urls: http://user-choices.rubyforge.org http://rubyforge.org/projects/xml-simple/ http://s4t-utils.rubyforge.org/ hoe http://rubyforge.org/frs/?group_id=1513&release_id=27516 builder http://rubyforge.org/frs/?group_id=415&release_id=12339 have fun.
