I agree with the recent comments about Warren. I think the lack of affection many folks have for Warren has less to do with Jack Burns and his acting style and more to do with how the writers chose to portray the character of Warren. It seems that, for the most part, they didn't WANT the viewers to like him! In addition to "The Legend of Barney Fife" mentioned by Dixon, the episode "Girl Shy" puts Warren in a more sympathetic light. We feel some compassion for Warren, who is unable to approach a girl unless he's sleepwalking! I, too, believe that if the writing for Warren had turned more in this direction, Warren would have become a more popular and enduring character.
