I read in one of the many TAGS books I have (Kelly) that the problem with
Warren was that Jack Burns was being asked to imitate Don Knotts, and was given
Don Knotts' material. Knotts was one of the greats, and could inspire pathos.
Burns could not match him. I too, have enjoyed many of the Warren episodes, and
appreciate the effort Jack Burns made to replace a character who could not be
replaced. I think he was very good in the episode where Aunt Bee gets a job,
and where he played opposite Don Knotts.
