I'll admit to being caught off guard by the marathon on TV Land starting
Tuesday at 8 p.m. I was standing in front of the TV and out of habit, I
swithced
to TVLAND to see what was on. There was Barney saluting with the numbers
1924-2006 under him. Call me silly, sensitive, or whatever you want, but the
only appropriate response I could think of was to salute him back. (I was home
by myself) As I stood in front of the TV, a small tear rolled down my cheek as
I looked at Don Knotts on the screen. I was fortunate enough to meet him
once at a show in Birmingham. It was a thrill. I think now I'll cherish the
reruns even more. Albeit through TV and movies, Don Knotts was a part of my
life
even longer than my own father who died when I was 32. Thankfully we have
hearts and minds (and reruns) where "The Legend" will live on forever! And
thankfully we have WBMUTBB! (Thanks Allen for the 10 great years I have spent
on
this Board!!!!
