Actually you can get domain registration for under $9 with services such as
url forwarding, email forwarding that you used to have to pay extra for if
it was available at all.

Of all the registrars I've ever dealt with either for domain's I've
registered or ones clients have registered the one that was most difficult
to deal with was Network Solutions/Verisign.

the privilege. For obvious reasons, they were reluctant to share the pie.

Competition and a free market economy at work, now I've seen domain
registration as cheap as about $10/yr., with a multi-year contract paid in
advance. It was $50 a year with a two year payment required when Network
Solutions had sole control. I thought it was still an incredible value then!
