The obvious first suggestion is to be sure you don't have restart mode selected. That said and dispensed with, for checking your bios you might want to look at a sound basic tutorial such as:
http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/09/22/bios_for_beginners/ If you want to start with the power settings, it's number 8. It might be worthwhile to just run off a copy and then run through the bios settings. If, as someone inexperienced in such matters, you are little nervous about making changes, just note differences without making changes and ask about them here. Keep in mind that what settings you see do vary between manufacturers. That of course makes it harder to troubleshoot remotely. But fortunately this isn't a shy group when it comes to making suggestions. drew ____ The WDVL Discussion List from WDVL.COM ____ To Join wdvltalk, Send An Email To: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] or use the web interface http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ Send Your Posts To: [email protected] To change subscription settings, add a password or view the web interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=wdvltalk ________________ http://www.wdvl.com _______________________ You are currently subscribed to wdvltalk as: unknown lmsubst tag argument: '' To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
