About five years ago we put together a week booklet as an intro for
Web newbies. Some very general points about it, how it can be
used and steering them towards the sorts questions and things we
like our clients to think/know about. (i.e. all -singing and dancing
animations are not the bees-knees; validation and cross-browers
support is important etc)
We keep it a low-cost production (24-page A5 single colour) and
team it up with a questionairre for further pondering at the early
stage. Most people prefer this to looking at it on the Web:

It's saved us a helluva lot of time in that we can send it out to the
people who ring us out of the blue and give them a service without
having to invest a lot of time in sitting down and introducing them to
the Net personally. I'm sure many of you have had these calls that
start off with "I'm thinking about having a World Wide Web site,
how much does it cost?.."
We team it up with generic prices and a semi-detailed outline of all
the things we do for that so they can see why it costs that much :-)
Quite of a lot of these come back later with a much better idea of
what they want and why.
Usually if we have to give a personal presentation, it's to a group
that is beyond this stage (excepting the managers of course... :-)
