Whoa! What is wrong with a shortcut??? The more shortcuts the better. I love
SSI's.

Don't get lost in the hype. I often have a database publish pages which are
then called in to other pages via ssi. I reckon it's cheaper to publish the html
page and use ssi than to use a cgi to connect to a rdbms everytime someone
wants a page that will not change more than a few times a day if that.
You can't see ssi on a machine without a server configured for ssi.
