Only because I keep seeing misinformation posted, I'm going to reiterate
what I said. Many (most?) search engines do NOT index pages that are
generated by cgi. This means that if the name of the url ends in a .pl or
.cgi don't count on it being indexed. Most search engines will not burrow
down into framesets. If you want the content of your framesets indexed make
sure to include the same content in a <noframes> tag in the top level page.
Anyone interested in these issues, I would encourage to go sift through
info at www.searchenginewatch.com. Danny Sullivan (who runs that site) also
writes a killer newsletter that you can subscribe to.
Search Engines do NOT see what you see when you look at the source. Many
won't tunnel down past your top level page under any circumstances.
If you want your pages to be findable, then find out how all this stuff
works by researching it and knowing that different search engines work
differently.
