Won't argue that many won't follow down into a DB -- although that
appears to changing as they evolve. Will have to -- even if it's so that
folks can have good search vehicle on their sites (search specific to
their site-- internal web or WWW).
However, to repeat, InfoSeek (internal to Boeing) follows URLs with a
<?> in them quite well (we recently ran a search and it shows 8000 pages
on our site -- there are about 100 flat pages -- all others are DB calls
structured like this:
domain.ca.boeing.com/bp/plsq/View.dtp?context=something&request=something&value=something).
In our case, there is no .cgi or .pl ending -- these are plsql calls to
an Oracle Web Server.
