I don't believe Anarchie has been updated recently. I have tried it
and still have a copy loaded. I think the University of Michigan Mac
archives have copies available.
Personally, I use Fetch and don't find it a problem. However, I don't
use it to upload many files nor do I use it on a regular basis (maybe
once a month to download software). Fetch has a significant advantage
in that it will recover from an abort without starting at the
beginning. Fetch was developed at Princeton several years ago and I
don't believe they have put a lot into updating its capabilities. At
one point it was far superior to anything in the M$ world. Software
does tend to show its age very quick.
