The first thing I would recommend is that you turn off that wretched caps
lock key. The second would be to learn to spell. The third would be to get
off of AOL and onto a regular, real Internet connection. No one is going to
take you seriously if you're on AOL.
If you haven't already done so, you should get a two or four year college
degree in communications design.
For contracts and procedures info, buy the Graphic Artists Guild handbook
and the Designers Commonsense Business Book by Barbara Ganim, North Lights
Books. Both are available at Barnes & Noble.
You would never be able to learn it all by touring a Web design company, as
steps A-Z would never be happening all at once. Even if they were, few
people would have the patience and time to show it all to you. If you
haven't already done so, you should create an online portfolio of your Web
design work proving that you already know how to do the stuff and showing
the quality of your work. If you feel the need to tour a design firm to see
how it's done, then it sounds as if you don't know how it's done. If that's
the case, then you're years away from being ready to sell yourself as a
freelance designer.
