Decisions made at a high enough level of management not to notice
what is going on down on the shop floor often come back to haunt
management...

But as one old pro told this greenhorn long ago, "there's always
another job out there, with better working conditions and better pay." You
just have to find it. And he was right. I've never had to put up with
that short SOB of a boss we had at that place.

(The next SOB was a fat tall DOB, but that was about eight or nine
years later, and by then I had enough positive experiences that I could
shrug it off. The rest of the crew gravitated towards my office after her
"pronouncements". Three or four months later, one of the other
contractors cracked and left the state after destroying all his work,
leaving us to keep the DOB from cracking herself. Come to think of it, I
was a replacement for another contractor who had had enough. Fun and
games! but heck, that's the fun of being a contractor -- you never know
what you will run into next! And six months later, you are doing
something else!)

Raise the old Jolly Roger and sail off into the sunset! 'tis a lot
easier than arguing with that boss in the mirror, as I am doing with my
current project!
