Funny you should mention that. I was at the Sna Diego Padres game on
Sunday. The Qualcomm Statium is outfitted with a large number of
monitors; most around the refreshment stands. Many are suspended from
the overhead so that you can watch the game live and the video feed
complete with instant replays that is broadcast over the TV. While
watching the game on the video monitor, I noted the changing signs in
the background. In short, the backdrop behind the homeplate is a blue
cushion. Depending on whether the camera angle is from the left or
right, the background just behind the batter displays an advertizing
banner. Next batter, new banner.
