Hi Linda,
The meta author tag works and so does a comment field at the bottom of the
page. That way it will only be seen to those who view the page source.
Strange, I've never had a problem with adding copyright info to a page. I
just put it there and my clients never ask about it.
Some expect it and even tell me I -should- put my info there to give credit
where it's due. I've been told several times by my clients that they want
the world to know who designed their site. On several sites they have gone
so far as giving me free reign to place banner ads on their sites too.
But for the fickle and stubborn, I'd use the meta tags and comment fields.
