Hi,
Wow, seems like I stirred up a real discussion. Guess that's good.
No word yet on whether I get the job. The former designer did a horrible job
coding the pages, with no alt tags or image dimensions, and storing the files
on different planets, to name just a couple of atrocities. Once I surveyed
the damage, I suggested and priced a redo, explaining that it would be much
cheaper than trying to fix what's broken. They want me to cut my price in
half, it seems. Uh, I won't be doing that. Don't worry. They're getting a
good deal the way it is, especially if they don't want my credits on the site
(not that I need an excuse to earn a living). I did suggest that if they want
to pay less, I can outline what I'll be willing to do for their price.
If I do get the job, I'm probably going to go the route of the zip disk
portfolio. Next time, I'll be better prepared, thanks to all of you.
Heh heh, about half the pages are to be PDF files anyway, so their customers
can download brochures. If memory serves me, those can't be modified. Of
course, I had to buy the software. . . .
