Netscape and MSIE allows users to left-click and drag a link to the desktop.
Netscape (at least the 4.0x version I'm using) also has a "create shortcut"
option on the right-click menu. The shortcut will be placed on the desktop.
Likewise, MSIE has a "copy shortcut" option, but you have to actually go
to the desktop and right-click/paste shortcut to put the icon on the desktop.
Unfortunately, the icon will be that of the browser associated with html
documents.
To use your own icon, one will have to place your .lnk file one their desktop.
A "fake" installation using Winzip SE perhaps?
