George, you are right. Windows is the choice.
There would be no internet if windows had been the dominant software
in government and education.
I seriously think there is a danger in going proprietary on the net.
If one starts to use code that only works with windows (or mac or
unix etc.) then we will end up back where we started.
The great thing about the net was that it required intelligence more
than money. MS is about trading money for intelligence. "Don't
worry, you don't have to know the ins and outs, we have saved you
from that drudgery" sounds like ms to me. And if you go that route
then you will reduce your opportunities in the future. I say spend
more on education; expect people to learn and do; don't buy a
solution.
