No. I think it works kinda like ICQ...just polls a server every once in a
while to see if there's anything new, then notifies you if there is. I'm not
sure what streaming technology they use for playing the message. I haven't
dug around my hard drive looking for temp files...and there's no
documentation that says they even download the file...so my guess is it's
probably just streamed when you hit "play". The sound quality is fine...a
little AM radio like, but gets the job done.
