Done.  StarOffice, Corel WP Suite, Applixware.  Latest releases are as
good or better than MS equivalents in about every review I've seen. 
StarOffice's next version will have full suport for Powerpoint and .doc
files (expected this month), WP suite already does (but we're all
waiting for version 8).  All are available in client server, enterprise
strength versions.

Netscape 4.07 is available for Linux.  Rumor has it Opera will be soon. 
You can get yer email and newsgroup, as well as calendar server and PIM
coordination (including PalmPilot) via the Communicator suite.

Together with free WP7 wordprocessor, recent Linux port announcements by
SAP and Peoplesoft, working demos from Oracle and Informix, GIMP and a
host of other things, the lack of application argument is becoming more
and more FUD everyday.
