They are actually a special team, comprised mostly of fellows. I
believe Alan Kay presides over them. We had a few of them attend a
brainstorming session we held at the Media Lab (Bran Ferren, in
particular). They get way beyond creativity. They might work one day
on tech systems, the next on solving a problem involving the physics of
the new rollercoaster. Very well rounded--brought to mind Cousteau's
crew . . . you had to have two or three degrees, plus the ability to
scuba dive and weld, and at least a dozen other useful trade skills, to
even make his list. Kind of like a Creative Tiger Team.
Nice people, all in all, from what I encountered . . . proibably fit
right in with this eclectic crowd.
