Taking the plunge? As one who has recently dove into the
Linux world and tried both Caldera and RedHat, I can offer
you my experiences. RedHat is far superior in the
installation process. It's almost brainless. Just choose
the type of installation you want - server, workstation or
custom, (I chose workstation) click OK and head out for
dinner (or whatever).

Upon your return you will have a working system. All
necesary partitions created, all software installed (yet
not all configured), ready for you to jump in and play.
However, if you're looking for an easier-to-use, yet
somewhat limited X-Windows interface, go with Caldera (or
some other flavor this group recommends).

RedHat 5.2 also has more support for peripherals than
Caldera, which I found out quickly when Caldera wouldn't
configure a simple 1 meg Trident card and RedHat uses it
like a native card.

So it all depends on how much time you want to spend
tweaking, or producing.
