Red Hat is supposedly good. I hear 5.2 is ok. Turbo Linux 2.0 is
really nice, and the latest SuSE seems ok, from what I hear. I will
probably get Red Hat again soon. I have the other two.

Ahem... I've been running Linux since... 96? Never rebuild the
kernel. Loadmod handles a lot of my needs. Also, not rebuilding means
that one can compare notes with others, and more easily tell whether the
problem is with the kernel, or what you are doing. Recompiling increases
the probability of introducing errors due to your errors, transmission
errors, and hardware errors. If you have a few computers, and have the
time, fine. But if you are running production work on everything you've
got, well...
Some people enjoy tinkering with their cars, some people enjoy
driving around, and some people enjoy doing things where there cars get
them. I fall into the latter category. Linux is the best danged pickup
truck on the international informational superhighway!

Yeaaassss!!!
But with six machines, I still don't have any good toy boxes to play
with. Or rather, not enough time and energy to do all the neat things I
keep dreaming up. Recompiling is just too low on the list to register.
