Kathy,
You may have already tried this, but if not, boot up the
laptop with a win95 rescue disk or one with FDISK.EXE on
it. When you run FDISK from the DOS prompt, be sure to
delete any existing partitions (probably labeled as a
"NON-DOS" partition if left over from win98.) Then,
re-boot the laptop with your "Windows 95 Startup Boot
Disk" and let it partition and format the hard disk the
way it wants.
No guarantees, but if you haven't tried it that way, it
can't hurt. Might even work... it's worked for me before.
