In this market (seattle) you go to Covad because you can't get the service from USWest.

Also -- given what I've heard anecdotally re USWest's "lack of a clue" .... Covad 
seems a good option because DSL is *all* they do.

barry -- here, there is something that goes between your computer & the wall outlet -- 
and that "something" has to be connected to your computer via an ethernet port.

And folks, apologies for the formatting - Exchange has decided to indent lines .... 
why, I don't know.
