Mmm. Comparing the unix command line with MS-DOS is like comparing a
dinky toy to the real thing. Both have four wheels. Only one gets you
moving.

You'll have to stop comparing Win95 and X-Windows. They may have the
same look but they're totally different in everyday use.

With win95, you can manage your system and all applications with
point-click-drag. You use your mouse for everything, occasionaly
typing in a name or number of something. That is, the GUI is
everything and the keyboard is just an appendix.

Linux is the other way round. Your shell is holy and the GUI is just
an appendix. Totally different.

That is, you'll configure perl and apache command-line. I wouldn't
know of any other way. But then, to test your website, you'll look at
it in Netscape, and -golly- you get a chance to click something. At
least, if you don't test your site from your command line, in Lynx,
that is. 

It's like salt toothpaste: in the beginning, you may need to get used
to it. After that, you don't want anything else anymore. ;-)
