Hopefully enough developers will join the effort to keep up with the scatter. I think the wiki is a crucial showcase and worth the effort in that it is beneficial to have complete control over such a tool so that it can be differentiated from the rest of the market. For example, the way it handles media such as images can be tuned to the particualr web2py framework. I'm not happy with the way most wiki's handle images - how they can be placed, uploaded, downloaded. The web2py - based wiki presents more possibilities for improving the user experience. It really just needs to solve the content search issue, then it would be at a reasonable level of completeness for a while...
