There is a wiki standards effort that is attempting to foster common
layouts so that interwiki linking will be easier.

As to a good example of a wiki, PmWiki is one of the better ones.
(www.pmwiki.org). It is a flat file, PHP based system.

DenesL, keep in mind that Massimo in his physical persona operates in
an academic environment. The hyper politics of which could lead to an
unusual "What your effort is not good enough to build a wiki on?"
whispered in the ear of the Dean. I would caution discretion.
